Rake DPS formula

Recommended Posts

Realm tested - Fun

Date tested - 07/10/2015

Spell - Rake

Description - The attack power addition to the formula is currently wrong, being lower than it should, see the spoiler below for the math.

In WoD, rake and rip had a +30% damage buff, we'll remove that damage in the beggining of the formula(attack power), so it will be just like it should be on Mists of Pandaria.

As you can see in the link, the formula is AP*0.62(62% of attack power per tick).

My attack power – 49566

Rake formula – AP*0.62(62% of attack power per tick, AP = attack power).

My mastery – 79.39%

Rake Attack Power formula

62% of 49566 = 30730

Converting the damage to Mists of Pandaria (-30%)

30% of 30730 = 9219

30730 – 9219 = 21511(how it should be without mastery/savage roar/tiger’s fury/crit on Mists of Pandaria)

Adding mastery

79.39% of 21511 = 17077

21511 + 17077 = 38588(how it should be without savage roar/tiger’s fury/crit)

Adding savage roar

40% of 38588 = 15435

38588 + 15435 = 54023(how it should be without tiger’s fury/crit)

Adding Tiger's Fury

15% of 54023 = 8103

54023 + 8103 = 62126(how it should be without crit)

Crit = damage*2

Rake crit = 62126*2

Rake crit = 124252(with savage roar and tiger’s fury)

My current bleeds - 86452

Note - Data gathered without trinket procs.

Note - Bleeds ignore armor.

Note - This is based on PvE, I did not have the chance to test on a player yet.

Proof of my stats:

Damage

Status

How it should work - Rake's ticks should benefit properly from attack power.

Priority - 8,5/10, main feral damage.

Observation - Later I'll test other bleeds such as Rip and Thrash.
