Jonte Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 So, since everyone has made so "many" Class & Spec guides here, and I haven't really seen any Holy Paladin guide, I decided to make one, untill someone makes a better one, I really hope this will do for most of you. First of all i'd just like to mention the stat priority. Intellect -> Spirit -> Crit -> Mastery -> Haste. This goes for me personally, normally goes for everyone else but there is some who prefer Crit over Spirit instead of Spirit over Crit. I run Spirit because since most of my arena games last till 50-80%+ dampening and yeah, running out of mana at that point is GG. Crit is the best stat (except of intellect) since whenever you crit with http://www.db.pandawow.me?spell=25914/holy-shock you get http://www.db.pandawow.me?spell=53576/infusion-of-light procs, and that is great for several things, to juke kicks, to get a big and fast heal off when in trouble or even get a cheap small heal off when you're not being in trouble and you don't wanna waste any unnecessary mana. 1. Glyphs. 2. Gems. 3. Enchants. 4. Talents. 5. Gearing. 6. Reforging. 7. Addons. 8. Macros. 9. General gametips. 11. Viable arena comps. Let's start. 1. Glyphs. There's a few glyphs that are viable right now, I've not tried them all but the major glyphs we can use are. Glyph of Divine Protection Glyph of Devotion Aura Glyph of Flash of Light Glyph of Divine Shield Divine protection against any melee class for obvious reasons. Aura mastery glyph if you don't think you're caster teammates don't deserve it or you just don't have any casters in your team, then this glyph is almost mandatory. Flash of Light Glyph for that 10% extra heals. "When you Flash of Light a target, it increases your next heal done to that target within 7 seconds by 10%" Glyph of Divine Shield, for when you use bubble, it heals you if you have any DoTs on you, and i personally love this because i don't really have to think about healing myself back to 100% hp before it ends or before a warrior or priest breaks it because most of the time, it does that for me, which is great! "Removing harmful effects with Divine Shield heals you for 10% for each effect removed. This heal cannot exceed 50% of your maximum health." 2. Gems. http://www.db.pandawow.me?item=76694/brilliant-primordial-ruby is the best choice if you want to compete with the damage going on. Gem intellect in all your slots, ignore the set bonuses unless they've got intellect. So in waist and gloves you might want to consider going for the set bonus. Usually with Purified Imperial Amethyst For a meta you want either Burning Primal Diamond or Ember Primal Diamond, currently i run with Ember Primal Diamond since my holy shock crit 4/5 times and here on PandaWoW in 2s atleast, it's seems to be a mana war at the end of most games. 3. Enchants. Chest - Enchant Chest - Glorious Stats Cloak - Enchant Cloak - Superior Intellect Wrists - Formula: Enchant Bracer - Super Intellect Weapon - Enchant Weapon - Jade Spirit Shield - Enchant Off-Hand - Major Intellect Gloves - Enchant Gloves - Greater Haste or Enchant Gloves - Superior Mastery either one works Shoulders - Greater Crane Wing Inscription Legs - Greater Cerulean Spellthread or Greater Pearlescent Spellthread, depends on what stat you want the most. Boots - Enchant Boots - Pandaren's Step 4. Talent builds. http://i.imgur.com/jyPg64Y.png These are the ones that i find worth having. Tier 1. The sprint, Speed of Light is kind of a must. Long arm of the Law isn't good, since there's no need for you to run around and spam Judgement, especially not if you're in a arena game and it's on dampening, that's will just be a waste of mana for a short sprint. Pursuit of Justice, please don't take this, it's totally wothless, one of your best heals is Word of Glory / Eternal Flame since it's a decent large heal and it doesn't cost mana BUT holy charges, and holy charges is what makes your Pursuit of Justice give you more movement speed. Tier 2. Repentance vs Fist of Justice vs Evil is a point of view. Repentance is very good if you're good at positioning and juking and generally good at the game, since if you're playing with someone that already has a fear, then Repentance won't DR with it. Fist of Justice is also very good, I like to choose this sometimes, for example, if i'm playing with a class that doesn't have many stuns and i'm up against (for example) a rogue-mage then Fist of Justice is great if you just wanna live and to cc the rogue as much and often as you can without the risk of getting kicked. Evil is a point of view is the talent at this Tier that I run with the most, it's generally just a great cc. It has a short cast range but has a very low cd (15 seconds) and last for 7 seconds. Tier 3. Eternal Flame is better for almost everything right. I guess you could go with Selfless Healer if you wanna get faster casts and an extra holy charge source, but since you get 2 holy charges per Flash of Light casted on a friendly target with Beacon and Holy Shock already generates 1 that's just enough. And since you will get so unbelievable many Infusion of Light procs you won't need the faster Flash of Light cast. Tier 4. Clemency, Unbreakable spirit & Hand of Purity. Hand of Purity is obviously vs all bleed / dot classes like SPs, Warlocks & Ferals depending on what their team mates are. It does reduce bleed damage too so all periodical damage. I use Clemency vs all mage / hunter teams for double sac so you can break all the CC they got. I will use Unbreakable spirit if I know I will be trained / targeted a lot or if i'm playing with a mage and Freedom isn't needed too much. Tier 5. Holy Avenger vs Divine Purpose Most people choose Divine Purpose over Holy Avenger but I personally like to run with Holy Avenger, since I don't need the heals from Eternal Flame, and just imagine how many CDs the enemies have to go through, I believe that with Holy Avenger we have 5 CDs that increase our healing in any way. Tier 6. Holy Prism vs Execution Sentence If i'm not playing with anyone that have a CC that can break upon damage then I always go with Holy Prism, if they do then I will always go with Execution Sentence 5. Gearing. Ofcourse you wanna go full 550 PvP Gear. Spirit off-set is the only choice, double PvP trinkets if you're Human, as Horde or other Alliance race I would use spirit insignia trinket. 6. Reforging. Right now I'm not really sure what's the best, I'm currently reforged to Crit and without any buffs I'm at 25% which I think is alright. And with the additional Holy Shock Crit chance you have a 50% Crit chance on all of your Holy Shocks. Spirit should still never be reforged away from, it's too important. 7. Addons. So the addons that i use and recommend is... InterruptBar: Each time enemies use their kick ability the addon will display that ability on your screen, and each time the enemies kick is back off CD, it will disapear from your screen, this is a MUST, because you can't do arenas as a healer without knowing if you can cast or not, and if you do get kicked and you're dying, you're just f*cked since not even bubble will save you. LoseControl: It will display CC's as moveable bars on your screen, you can change the size of these also. The ones that you can edit are, player, target, party 1-5 and focus (maybe even your pet too). I love having this and would say it's a must since when I used to just work with Blizzard's Raid Frames, sometimes bleeds icons would "overlap" the stuff that i wanted / needed to dispell, for example, if my partner got stunned by a paladin then obviously i need to dispell that but couldn't quite notice that he was stunned, because it wasn't shown because all DoTs were covering my Raid Frames. Gladius: A custom addon of the Blizzard's Arena Frames. It basically show all enemies in the arena, and says when they're CC'd, when they're DR'd by what spells and how long it's left on the DR. Also it shows when their Trinket is avaible and when it's not and ofcourse, how long it's left untill it is avaible if it's on CD. 8. Macros. So, i use pretty many macros, but the ones i think is worth mentioning are the following... /cast Blessing of Kings /run UnitSetRole("player","HEALER") I use this because i use Blizzard's Raid Frames and since i use LoseControl, I like to always be ontop of my teammates so i don't have to edit LoseControl each and every time i enter an arena game. (Game Menu>Interface>Raid Profiles>Un-Check "Keep Group Together">Sort By: Role) I use this with my Buffs so that I never forget it. /cast Divine Favor /use Prideful Gladiator's Badge of Dominance I like to use my On-Use trinket with my Divine Favor for extra big heals. #showtooltip /cast [@focus,harm,exists,nodead][]Hammer of Justice This simply makes it to so that IF i have a focus, it will cast HoJ on my focus, no matter who i'm currently targeting, but if I DON'T have a focus then it will cast HoJ on whoever i'm currently targeting. So this is "my" first guide ever made so please bare that in mind if you see something in it that...seems wrong or anything like that. I also want to mention that i pretty much just copy-pasted this from http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3313032985 and therefore i would not like to take credit for this since it should go to http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/outland/Easydragon/advanced . HOWEVER i did edit probably 70-85% of the guide, since it was based on retail and well...this is PandaWoW, you know what i mean. So yeah, this is mostly personally opinions and just something i would suggest to people that are decently new to the Class and Spec since i don't consider this guide as a "pro's" guide. And it's not anything like Repitchx or Chiv's In-Depth guide, but hey! It's like i said, it's just so that people get a hint of what the Class & Spec is about. And AGAIN, i have never made a forum post this long before, so if there are any "errors" or ugly looking parts in the guide, please go easy on me. Thanks This is something some of you might wanna watch, this helped me out a bit, and hopefully will for you too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTg4LoiLnWk
