what's the PPM you're talking about?

Is that a some sort of lockout for procs when the maximum is already reached? I think "approximately" means you can get more or something around that number, am I wrong here?

Or does it really lockout any procs during the current time frame?

MAX 5 procs per min, but you may also get less, perhaps 3-4 as it's a 10% proc chance. Proof is there, read main post :p

It sounds weird according to my experience from retail.

when I see PPM on the item and it says "approximately procs 1.8 times per minute" I take it as a middle value, not the maximum.

I got a warrior legendary ring on my warrior which is having 1.8 PPM but I'm experiencing it the way different. Sometimes I can get three procs during twenty seconds and no procs during the whole encounter.

I wonder where did you get those numbers for MAXIMUM? I'd like to see them too.

I hate that i have to repeat myself so much in 2017. Does pom rof say it has an ICD of 2 sec? No. Hidden description.

 

Does it say u should be able to use hand of freedom in stuns/wyvern? No. Hidden description

 

Does it say blood horror should break on damage? No, but blood horror is special (normally horror effects should not break on dmg). Hidden description again. Zzzz

I was just wondering where I can find this hidden description on my own.

 

It's hard, it comes down to game knowledge mostly. This is why it's hard to report some bugs. *cough warrior cough*

Seems like nightfall proc is increased, the most mana/soul shards you have in the moment of the proc. (The lower mana/ soul shards, lower is the proc chance)

 

Edit: Had just tested world: Xfun, In 1 minute i got 2 procs only.. Might be just a cross bug?

 

More tests:

 

First proc: 0.1 sec ( Could not print )

+ 2 procs: http://prntscr.com/ga895w (first 30 seconds)

Total of 4 procs

 

Again re-tests:

dont need to post a video. i just tested in world. started my timer soon as i got a proc and waited 1 min. it procced 6-7 times. its just rng, but bugged atm.

If you recall, early on in this thread, I talked about how we sometimes gloss over certain mechanics in tooltips, for the same of simplicity and understandability. This is one of those cases. A single shard is a really significant chunk of resource, so it can’t be a very high proc rate. But with a low proc rate, it’s very random, meaning that you regularly get fights where you get relatively few shards, and some where you get a ton of shards. We wanted it to still be somewhat random, so we went with a somewhat complex system under the hood that creates "smoothed" randomness, with a simple sounding cover on it (the tooltip). We didn’t expect players to really notice at all, so huge kudos to you; what you describe is almost exactly how it works. It’s actually a stacking 2% chance per Corruption tick, which averages out to an 11.7% proc chance. It does indeed count all Corruption ticks from all sources. I believe in your current build, it only is giving 1% on the first tick instead of 2%, but that’ll be fixed in the next build.

 

We don't think every proc needs this kind of treatment. Nightfall is kind of a big deal, so excessive RNG could cause balance or rotational problems.

 

According to this info, there is no PPM at all, but have 2% stacking proc chance per Corruption tick, instead of flat 10%. Will be +- the same amount of procs, but with less RNG.

 

Also found a bug that all Corruptions from Seed of corruption (with Soulburn) can trigger Nightfall. If we use it on 2+ targets, we will get a lot more procs, than intended.

I tested this quite a lot on QA so far and it seems that you get 4 to 8 procs per minute with a static value of 30% haste.

Feel free to test yourself.

 

I did not quite understand what was exactely meant with "stacking" so I read the blue posts myself to figure.

I am not sure about this topic, maybe I misread something, if so I'd like to be corrected. I find a lot of different statements of different sources.

 

( I am aware of the changelog, but obviously this mechanic DID not work according to tooltip/changelogs )

 

There is information missing about Malefic Grasp and Nightfall in 5.4.8.
