[Bugged Quests] Learning the Ropes bugged

The quest seems to be bugged as the spiders, instead of reacting to the script ability and run in fear, away from the camp, they instead run back to the camp to be killed by the NPCs at the lumber mill. 

As you can see in the video below. 

And it blocks me from progressing the quest chain and eventually. completing the WPL quest achiev. Please let me know if there is any way this quest could be completed, if not, then could it be atleast instantly completed?
