http://picbg.net/img.php?file=801d46e7db696cde.jpg - you can see that there are 7 ticks of eternal flame after the last hit from execution sentence which means have been past 10+sec and there is no final strike even tho every tick needs 1.25sec to strike!!

8ticks for 10sec = 1.25sec per tick - you can see tons of TIME past on pic and only 7 hits.. no FINAL DAMAGE! you can cleary see the time ~needed for tick in pic:
