As a result I’ve decided to write a guide where all the main ideas and features that I would like to share with you will be collected. Before reading this, I’d like you to get acquainted with the following points that explain my attitude. This guide is only an embodiment of my vision of the game, you can find some mistakes/defects here.You also may disagree with something, the aim of this guide isn’t to prove someone my correctness.I’m just trying to share my experience with people who are interested in it. This guide can be useful for both experienced players and people who play paladin for the first time. I do not want to take part in discussions of personal things and quarrels. I ask you not to turn this into a dump. I would be glad to answer all your questions about the guide and I’m ready to take into consideration your recommendations and corrections. Some information about my performance:I play retribution paladin for nearly six years (since Cata). My experience: 2.5+ AT, 2.5+ s16/s17, 3k pandawow.. I have separated my guide on some sections in order to make it easier for you to coordinate: 1.Races. 2.Talents. 3.Glyphs. 4.Stat priority, sockets, enchants, reforge, professions. 5.Macroes, addons, interface. 6.Tricks. 7.Pvp and arena setups. Green – talents that can be changed (depends on your teammate). I will analyse those talents which can be used while playing arena. Talents that I have not analysed are not actual for retribution paladin or they are for other specs. 1st tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=87172 Long Arm of the law is the best сhoice in this tier. It gives us 3 second sprint with 2 second cooldown (Press judgement  get 3 sec sprint with 2 sec cooldown). It really helps you to kite enemies in pvp and arena. 2nd tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=105593 It replaces http://db.pandawow.me?spell=853 reduces cooldown (30 sec). This talent is probably the best for retri among those that were added in MoP. Cd 30 sec really sounds great. You can make excellent chain controls while playing with hunter or mage. It was very hard to play without this talent in Cata. All in all, it’s the best talent for 3s and it should be taken. 3rd tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=85804 One of the best talents for retri pala. You gain both stacks and sprint when using judgement so you are able to heal yourself and your teammates. 4th tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=114039 This talent should be taken if you face affliction warlock + any heal. This talent is not actual while playing versus moonkin + afli warlock. All in all, this talent is good only versus affliction warlocks. http://db.pandawow.me?spell=105622 The best talent for retri pala. It gives you 2 BoPs/freedoms/sacrifaces. I was very glad to play with such a talent when I was starting to play MoP. 5th tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=105809 Everything is clear here. It’s the best talent in this tier. 6th tier: http://db.pandawow.me?spell=114157 One of the powerful abilities of retri pala. It can both heal and damage. Fear and repentance. They can be taken while playing with any heal, but it’s better to think up something and to play with 30 sec HoJ. For example: Monk takes AoE stun and gives it to the target while you give your HoJ into focus, then monk chains it with 6 sec stupefaction. This combination is enough to make your enemies use some def cooldowns or it can lead to enemy’s death. [spoiler=3. The right priority: Strength->Haste->Crit -> Mastery Orange socket–http://db.pandawow.me?item=76661 Purple socket –http://db.pandawow.me?item=89674 Red socket–http://db.pandawow.me?item=76696 Meta socket-http://db.pandawow.me?item=76886 I don’t use pvp socket (I tested it and the damage was less than if I used meta socket). Why I took-http://db.pandawow.me?item=76661 instead of-http://db.pandawow.me?item=76669 if we know that haste is better. I tested it and got the following: you won’t get any profit if you use-http://db.pandawow.me?item=76669, you don’t even get reduced cooldowns. Even if you use-http://db.pandawow.me?item=76699,то you won’t get any profit. I consider this socket build to be the best. P.S. If you will turn everything in haste (items, sockets e.t.c.) you will lose mastery and won’t get any profit. Tricks:] 1) Using sacrifice you can prevent a lot of control abilities. In 2s I often use this when it’s necessary: Using sacriface we can not only save our teammates (remove control or just give them -30%) but also to avoid such control as sheep, supt, hex, blind, sleep, fear, scatter (not on pandawow), roar, repentance. In most of cases it can lead to win. You shouldn’t use it without any purposes. 2) We have dispel which removes dk’s dots (if he doesn’t take glyph) and poisons. It’s very convienent to dispel paralytic and avoid stun that doesn’t diminish with kidney/cheap shot. Moreover dispel removes shadow priests’s plague and hunter’s sleep. 3) Master aura. It can be used while you are in solar or frostjaw + we get -20% incoming magic damage. 4) BoP. It removes necrotic, monk’s karma, stuns and fears. You can also remove dk’s execute by using BoP. P.S. It’s so sad that it’s impossible to use BoP while you are in the warrior’s fear. 5) Freedom is very essential in arena. When mage is casting frostjaw on you or on your teammate, you can use freedom and it will allow you to move (this way you can prevent control). 6) Fear. You can fear dk’s pets, warlock’s pets and dk when he uses lichborne. 7) You can destroy grounds and mass reflects by using judgement or exorcism. Very often my teammate asks me to destroy grounding totem or massreflect and it really helps to win an arena match. 8) If you don’t want you sacrifice/BoP/freedom to be dispelled or purged you can spam buffs. [spoiler=7. Pvp and Arena setups:] Most actual setups for retri in 2s are Ret/Hunt and Ret/Mage. If you want to play with heal it would be a good idea to play with druid or shaman. Most actual setups for retri in 3s are PHS/P/RLS v.2 aka RetLS I think that it would be more profitable to record some videos in 2s, 3s than writing much text here. [spoiler=3season:] In PvP I have the idea to play versus the best players. 1. Страх, Отпугивание зверя, Грех и кара, Устрашающий крик, Вой ужаса, Ментальный крик, Кровавый ужас, С позиции зла, Устрашающий рев (Симбиоз) 2. Когда в цель дают эффекты страха, то цель очень часто начинает менять свое местоположение, перемещаться из одного места в другое. В этот момент атаковать цель невозможно, как кастеру, так и милишнику, т.к. она на самом деле находится в другой точке, а не в той, в которой ты ее наблюдаешь. Так же находясь в этих эффектах страха, цель способна передвигаться через геодату. 3. Думаю и так ясно, что должно работать иначе. Баг есть только на кроссе. 4. Баг существует относительно давно (схожий баг с водемпаиром). Раньше его не было. И повторюсь. Баг работает только на кроссе. 5. PandaWoW Fun/x100/x1/ 6. 100/10 будет показано на видео. Further more i found : So let us do the calculation with the picture from PTR : He has 36878 Attack power and his based weapon dps should be 1 if im not mistaken. (or 0) let's just make the calculation for the weapon damage now : base_weapon_damage + (X * Attack Power / 14) 0 + (2 * 36878/14) = 5268.29 for me. Well it seems so god damn close that i just don't know if i forget something or whatever. Anyways we can see that with this calculation the screenshot from PTR would be (nearly) correct and fine Now let's do the same on Pandawow: (also grievous gear) I have 41668 attack power. 0 + (2 * 41668/14) = 5952.57 So why does my calculation fits for the PTR retail Screenshot but on Pandawow my pet does like 100% more dmg ? @Heisenberg @Deadmaus @Zeox Well it's clear that the Pandawow pet is bugged but is my calculation correct or did i do smth wrong ?
