Slam formula most likely buggy

Recommended Posts

Spell: http://www.db.pandawow.me?spell=1464/slam#changelog

Issue: Someone told me that Slam formula is completely broken, make it do way more damage.

What should happen: Should have 5.4.8 formula (no idea where to find formulas rip)

Priority: 10/10

Realm: x100/fun

As I said, I'm not sure about it, but we all know warriors do WAAAY too much damage. I tested most passive spells that grant damage increase and I didn't find anything there.

I believe it must be the formula. Could be wrong, but if I am, please help out and tell us what's broken, cause it's not legit at all.

This is coming from a 2.8k destro lock s15 retail, 2.8k mage, 2.6k priest, 2.9k mage etc. Everyone who played s15 knows it's completely retarded. Just help out and try to find the bug.

Have tested about 2 month ago, all is correct.

If not, make Warrior in FUN, and make log/screenshot with damage without procs, and with weapon 3.6 speed.

Don't know what it is then. The damage is absurd, far from legit and I tested all passive abilities in your spellbook and everything is fine. There must be something scaling incredibly wrong and idk what it is. :/

i dont remember how but you need to count normalisation when testing melle's abilities

all major bugs i can think of is http://forum.pandawow.ru/showthread.php?t=169073

and http://forum.wowcircle.com/showthread.php?t=520416 (slam gcd)

yeah exactly ... Maybe someone can work with this :

This are my results but i feel like i failed in some points.

Let me link the formula for Slam :

http://i.imgur.com/CNlz3Ph.png

That formula is kinda bit tricky because you have to calculate the normalized weapon damage first.

The normalized weapon damage for instant attacks is:

normalized_damage = base_weapon_damage + (X * Attack Power / 14)

Note that ...

base_weapon_damage + weapon_speed * Attack Power / 14

is simply the formula for weapon (white) hit damage, as 14 AP = 1 DPS.

Reason: Needs updating for Patch 6.0.2. Each point of Agility or Strength now grants 1 Attack Power (down from 2). All other sources of Attack Power now grant half as much as before. Attack Power now increases Weapon Damage at a rate of 1 DPS per 3.5 Attack Power (up from 1 DPS per 14 Attack Power) . Attack Power, Spell Power, or Weapon Damage now affect the entire healing or damage throughput of player spells. Bonus Armor secondary stat added: Increases Armor and Attack Power for tanking specializations.

So we add these things :

My weapon that i wear atm is :

Still didnt figure out if my base_weapon_damage is now the average from the Weapon damage or the weapon DPS.

Anyways let's continue :

Saw my ingame Tooltip ?

8350f26abb571def4ca2601e213731fa.png

Why does it say + 3.427 damage ? tried to put some clothes off so my attack power gonna get reduced but nothing changed. Not sure if the tooltip or the formula is just bugged.

Anyways let's make the formula now. I tried it now to get the dps Not sure if thats correct but yeah thats why im posting it here.

139,98 is the DPS.

X = 3.3 for two-handed weapons

AP for 1 damage = 14 (the 4,24 might be for wod in the picture above)

so formula is :

normalized_damage = 139,98 + (3,3 * 37.524 /14) = 8844,94

^ That is the normalized weapon dmg (correct me if im wrong)

Now lets continue with the slam formula :

8844,94/100*275 = 24323

24323 + 1246 = 25569

It's supposed to do 25569 damage but right now im doing 30696

tested in pride gear ( tested with 115 ilvl weapon on a dummy)

Anyways that's what i found out :D

Also in the "modified by" section on wowhead i cant find that it should be modified by http://www.db.pandawow.me?spell=12712/seasoned-soldier

Its tested with a 115 ilvl weapon and since slam is based on weapon dmg it would make a huuuge difference ... so yeah no idea just posted it here so other ppl can think about it and give me some tips prob. before i post that as a bug report. With my normal 550 weapon i do 102k means it would make a ~15k + damage difference ( even more with proccs etc. ) so yeah i think thats pretty much it what we are looking for no ? Also, i though it was maybe that Seasoned Soldier was affecting Slam, and maybe it is, but that isent what's supposed to be happening. Over all Seasoned Soldier should only affect:

» Whirlwind

» Whirlwind Off-Hand

» Thunder Clap

I'm not even sure if seasoned soldier should affect slam damage ...

If not its bugged as fuck ... Well on wowfreakz atleast they said it shouldnt affect but theres no 100% believable source :/

It shouldn't. No site I checked it on says it should be. That's believeable enough.
