3) Работает не совсем корректно, засчитало уже во время боя, а-ля заметило вкачанного питомца, и в обще его наличие...хотя как пишут на англ комментариях вовхед:

I don't know if you've tried it, but get the mission and raise a level 3 pet from 0 (if you already have a pet to level 3 and get the mission here it doesn't work... it must be from 0)

Hello. This task should be credited immediately if you already have a level 3 pet, and it only did this during the fight, apparently the script checked the level of pets not immediately, but during the fight itself. So yes, if you don’t have a level 3 pet, well, you should level it up and everything will be fine.
