We are switching to the authorization protocol that was used on the official servers during Mists of Pandaria (5.4.8). After the update, you will be able to log in to the game using either your username or the email address linked to your account. This change will significantly reduce the number of client crashes that often occurred on the authorization screen, character selection screen, and in some other cases, while also allowing us to implement new features and improvements in the future.

We have taken your requests into account and found a way to use the new authorization type while still keeping the ability to log in to the game with your usual username. This means that after the update, you will be able to log in using either the email address linked to your account or your username.
