My strong belief is that it cannot be fixed.

There are several ways to do this trick and it's so accustomed to game's mechanics that you cannot just fix this without desturbing strong game mechanics elements.

I rolled a new char, teamed up with another guy who just rolled his char and we faced a team of 2.4k rated players, both geared. The reason why they do this is not because of rating, really, because these are usually very very skilled people who wouldn't need such a trick to overcome their opponents. The reason why they do it is money, aka bonuses. People will pay more for a high rated character, for epeen purposes. Even tho it's just a meaningless number, people will brag about it, show it off, even if they didn't actually win that rating legit.

I wouldn't worry much about this, tho. Let them have their cake and eat it. We all know how "skilled" they really are ;-)

I just sell my rogue whit 1600 rating at 339 bp, and thats a pretty high price for any char, (in my opinion) was full pve/pvp and that is why i think they bought it and not for the rating but yea, eyes can be tricky if see a 2k something rating on any char xd! and those at 3k right now (according to you uru) they use some kind of bug, cus that rating on private server its pretty good u know.

I know for a fact that private servers, in general, contain much more hardcore and skilled PvPers then retail. Obtaining 3k here, for example, is very hard if you're just a skilled guy playing a working class/spec. It can, however, be very easy if you play broken classes, like mistweavers, or combinations of classes, like MW+hunter. You can never know who's actually skilled and who isn't, but who ares about that number anyway? I don't, I find it ridiculous and stupid, but some people would sell their house to have 3k rating on a private server. So it sells good and fast. That is why we'll ALWAYS have win-trading and MMR abuse.

Uraganuu, so are you saying some people are win-trading to get high rating or what? I didn't understand what kind of trick they do?
