Scarab Storm Exploit

Not really. He used more than once in the same BG and everytime the scarabs were attacking people. Besides that, doesn't matter if he used in or out of combat, the scarabs shouldn't attack, they are just cosmetic pets.

It's not an exploit, it's a bug: the necklace can be used both inside and outside combat and will summon for 20seconds some scarabs; those scarabs will attack (750 damage in PvP, 2-5k in PvE) any target the caster has in that moment and you should probably use the bug tracker for this report. The CD is 10min.

When you use a bug to get advantage over someone or something, thats considered an Exploit. And makes no difference if i report something on bugtracker or not, because they only care about the russian bugtracker.

A lot of spells are bugged and for more than the damage those bugs may have caused to you (10-15k maybe). If any use of a bugged spell is an exploit, then anyone who is actually using a fear spell is abusing (and in some cases it's true), but I don't believe that a person is supposed to know that the Pendant of the Scarab Storm shouldn't do any damage at all: to do damage it has been scripted in that way instead of the pre-set empty script and so no damage: it's a developer's matter, in my opinion. Usually a bugged item doesn't summon or the summoned NPC doesn't interact or doesn't do damage: the scarabs have been scripted to do damage, so it's not something up to the single player. Then again it's low damage (lower than any bugged spell probably) and with a 10min CD.

Class spells are core abilities, you can't restrict someone to stop using those. Even if their Pyroblast does x5 more damage than it should. Or if their cc can be spammed endlessly. Those are the things which get fixed first as well. Why do you think not a single huntard got banned for Stampede? Or Snake Trap? Why no one gets banned for Explosive Shot when, in certain cases, its DoT does x2 more damage than it should?

Yet when a person chooses to use an item and after first time they do know that things arent going as they are supposed to, this is abusing.

It's a person who used a bugged item and as you may know I report cheaters too; but I wanted to express my point of view because it's a minor bug abuse, for not much, with a long CD: does not worth a 3 days ban as exploit. Also:

after first time they do know that things arent going as they are supposed to

Without looking to official sources, none can know that the scarabs shouldn't attack ("peaceful" it's written, but may be in an ironic way, since it's an item that takes the idea from a movie in which scarabs aren't peaceful at all). Then class based bugs can be abused and could be stopped until fixed (people can choose not to use a snake trap and voluntary abuse of it, so it's the same of this reported item, in a objective point of view): some spells can't be blocked because "core", but some are chosen exactely because bugged and otherwise won't be used so much.

So I'm not defending the reported guy, I'm just saying that it's a very little thing that maybe annoyed the reporter, but that wasn't anything big.

I didn't reported the guy because of the damage of the scarabs, I reported him because I know he used the scarabs on purpose, because he is cheating a lot in BGs;

He was invisible in almost all the BGs I did, but I have no proofs of that and I don't know if he was hacking or if it was a bug.

Well, not like I'm really hating on reported person as well and I do agree that 3 day ban for this would be too much.

I mean, the point of reporting is to get people warned that they are doing something wrong and they'd better stop it. This is the situation where a simple warning would be enough as I see it. I think most people do look on wowhead/wowwiki about items they are getting and Blizzard isn't really being sarcastic in their item descriptions, most of the time.

So while this player was reported for a very minor bug abuse and in my opinion shouldn't be banned at all, this is still done on a purpose and it would be nice if developers paid attention to such things. (Even though bug tracker gets completely ignored).

If we make a report about something in the bug tracker, no one cares about fixing it, but if we report a person who is bugging something, they fix the bug, so even if the guy doesn't get banned, maybe they will fix the pendant. Just maybe, because when we report ppl we get ignored too sometimes xD
