Realm tested - Fun

Date tested - 18/10/2015

Spell/Item/etc - PvP Resilience

Description - Back when server went from 5.4.2. to 5.4.8. there was a resilience bug, where it was higher than it should, but the problem is that even after the fix, it isn't fully working as intended, even though the difference is pretty low. See the spoiler below for details(using Deep Wounds as damage example):

Overall Status

Attack Power = 23972

Ticks = 5, each of 19704

Formula = AP*1,98 + 1800 over 15 sec, 5 ticks

PvP Power = 34.62

Warrior's resilience = 80.00%

Converting Attack Power into Damage

23972*1,98 = 47464

47464 + 1800 = 49264 over 15 sec on a pve target for a fury/protection warr

49264*2(5.4.0. patch note damage increase) = 98528 over 15 sec on a pve target for an arms warr

98528/5 = 19705 per tick for an arms warrior(current and correct damage in a NPC)

Adding PvP Power

34.62% of 19705 = 6821

19705 + 6821 = 26526

Adding Resilience

80% of 26526 = 21220

26526 - 21220 = 5306, but the current damage is 5275

So, after a few tests...

Actual resilience

80.11% of 26526 = 21249

26526 - 21249 = 5277, which is only 2 numbers above the normal result because the numbers were rounded.

This happens because every 480 points of resilience(0,24%), there is a 0,01% diminshing return in the next 160(or 0,8%), thus instead of it going to 0,32%, it goes to 0,31%(but it is still 640).

The resilience trinkets give you 5280, and 480*11 = 5280, which is from where this 0,11% extra is coming from, it seems that it the DR is not coming negatively from the trinkets(but it does from gems and etc), but instead it is coming positively, explaining why most of my damage formula threads were wrong even after the corrections.

Note - Tested with two ilvl 496 warriors, both without gems, enchants and procs.

Note - Numbers are rounded, therefore no decimals.

How it should work - There should be no extra 0,11%

Priority - 5/10, the damage reduction is very low.

Comments - Thanks to Neff for helping me with the damage formulas.

It is bugged but it only means they are mitigating 0.11% more damage, wich is neglectable. And not only warriors, but all classes.

Yep.

I'll just have to re-do most of my formulas using 80.11% as the resilience coefficient instead of 80.00%.

/cries because I did everything in my weekend.

ed8d2856ad1ce674ccee783c56bf10cc.png

23972*1,98 = 47465

47465 + 1800 = 49265 over 15 sec on a pve target for a fury/protection warr

80ccd531b07ec455e9a1052d858b47e6.png

49265*2(5.4.0. patch note damage increase) = 98530 over 15 sec on a pve target for an arms warr

98530/5 = 19706 per tick for an arms warrior(current and correct damage in a NPC)

325d1a4d0696c12f58dfd638ec45138e.png

Adding PvP Power

37.50% of 19706 = 19705*1.3750 = 27096

Adding Resilience

80% of 27096 = 21677

27096 - 21677 = 5419

1. 37.50% of 19345 = 26599,3

2. 80% of 26599,3 = 5319,86 = 5320 на скрине

23972*1,98 = 47465

47465 + 1800 = 49265 over 15 sec

49265*2(5.4.0. patch note damage increase) = 98530 over 15 sec on a pve target for an arms warr

98530/5 = 19706

(47465*2(5.4.0. patch note damage increase) + 1800) / 5 = 19346
