[JC / Prospecting] Neither orange nor purple gems from Prospecting

Prospected ~100 stacks of ghost iron ore, result:

-pandarian garnet x 151 (little red)

-lapis lazuli x 49 (little blue)

-river's heart x 44 (large blue)

-alexandrite x 46 (little green)

-wild jade x 9 (large green)

-sunstone x 123 (little yellow)

-sun's radiance x 11 (large yellow)

-sparkling shard x 581

There are no orange or purple gems. I think, those simple aren't on result list, or something is really wrong with their rate. Only source for orange and purple gems (low rate) from mining cast on ghost iron or trillium veins. Will be great to get them from prospecting too.

He is talking about basic pandaria gems (orange and purple). I think loot tables for prospecting are a little mess (if u prospect thorium ore for example, u can obtain outland basic gems while in retail there are not possible), and here prospecting only generate 1 type of gem while in retail when u prospect, u can produce from 1 to 3 type of gems.

Prospecting is a Jewelcrafting ability which allows the gathering of gems from raw ore that can be obtained via the Mining skill. Five ore of the same type are consumed per prospecting attempt and produces 1-3 gems, with the most common result being a single gem prospected. The gems acquired are of types which could be found by mining a mineral node of the type of ore consumed.

Thank you for tipp, however i tested trillium ores too - no one orange or purple gem from prospecting ~10 stacks of random trilliums.

Also the main problem is not their quality (vermilion onyx / tiger opal, imperial amethyst / roguestone) since an alchemy crafter produces easily any pandarian large gem from their little + golden lotus. The main problem is to produce that color.

For me trillium works quiet good, as averange after a lot of stacks, but yes it's not in the correct proportion: i use to discard blue and green gems since they are in proportion 5:1 to the orange and purple ones, while on wowhead they are all 16-17%.

here prospecting only generate 1 type of gem while in retail when u prospect, u can produce from 1 to 3 type of gems.

Same issue with enchanting, it's here since ever but better reporting it too...

The gems are supposed to have an equal chance of dropping. Trillium definitely produces more orange and purple in my experience, but the way it should prospect is by the following rates.

http://www.db.pandawow.me?item=72092/ghost-iron-ore#prospecting (clearly states the equal rates of for ghost iron ore, higher for basic alch gems)

http://www.db.pandawow.me?item=72103/white-trillium-ore#prospecting (clearly states the equal rates for white trillium ore, equal for both basic alch and basic JC gems)

http://www.db.pandawow.me?item=72094/black-trillium-ore#prospecting (clearly states the equal rates for black trillium ore, equal for both basic alch and basic JC gems)

Even though I've gotten used to the rates in x100 for prospecting, it is obnoxiously annoying to have over 20 stacks of blue gems sitting around while having 3-4 stacks of orange and purple.

I have the same problem:

With Obsidian or Elementium from Cataclysm prospecting gave the same amount of every gems , except purple and orange gems. But there were some purple and orange gems.

But now with Ghost Iron i prospected nearly 400 and got many gems but 0 of purple and 0 of orange!
