Links to spells (Wowhead / PandaWoW DB) Diffuse Magic (Monk) Wowhead: https://www.wowhead.com/spell=122783/diffuse-magic PandaWoW DB: https://db.pandawow.me/?spell=122783 Revival (Monk) Wowhead: https://www.wowhead.com/spell=115310/revival PandaWoW DB: https://db.pandawow.me/?spell=115310 Unstable Affliction (Warlock) — Backlash Damage Wowhead: https://www.wowhead.com/spell=30108/unstable-affliction PandaWoW DB: https://db.pandawow.me/?spell=30108 (Each link shows how the spell is supposed to work on retail.) Diffuse Magic and Revival isn’t working correctly. When I use Diffuse Magic (which should give 90% magic damage reduction) and then cast Revival to dispel Unstable Affliction, I’m instantly killed by the backlash damage. Since UA backlash is magic damage, Diffuse Magic should reduce it heavily. Instead, even with Diffuse Magic active, Revival dispelling multiple UAs kills me instantly, which suggests the reduction isn’t being applied. 1-Diffuse Magic specifically states that it “removes all harmful magic effects from you and reduces all magic damage taken by 60% (90% in MoP) for X seconds.” This means that while Diffuse Magic is active, the monk takes heavily reduced damage from any magic effects, including backlash damage. 2-Revival dispels all magic, poison, and disease effects from the entire team. When UA is active, dispelling it normally triggers its backlash damage. 3-When Revival is cast while Diffuse Magic is active, the monk is under a strong magic damage reduction of 90% less spell damage that applies to all magical damage, and UA backlash is a form of magic damage. Therefore the backlash should be reduced by 90%. 4-Because Revival dispels all magical debuffs, and Diffuse Magic provides a strong mitigation to the backlash, the combination logically results in: Quote All unstable afflictions being dispelled, and The backlash damage being reduced by 90%, because the monk is under the effect of Diffuse Magic at the moment the dispel occurs. 5-This interaction follows the rules because: Quote UA backlash is Shadow magic damage, Diffuse Magic reduces all magic damage, And Revival’s dispel happens while that reduction is active. Evidences That it doesn't work: https://streamable.com/lmpa0p Proof from retail that it should work : [ Check minute 3:26] Edited 58 minutes ago by Kogamoon
